In an imaginary country in the East, the palace peacock goes in search of the most beautiful gift for the little prince’s birthday…but what would be the ideal present among all the treasures in the “Populaire?” exhibition?

    How about a moment of zen at the Mucem? For an hour, a few yoga exercises will help you loosen up, get rid of tension and explore the museum and its architecture with your body. Nothing but well-being!

    This tour takes children on a journey of discovery through Mediterranean motherhood. Approached through the metaphor of the family tree, it invites them to reflect on the ties that bind them to their mothers, but also on the place of the maternal figure, pregnancy, domestic work and transmission.

    In collaboration with Jaune Sardine.
    Children set off on a mission in the “Populaire?” exhibition to help Phil the rabbit, faithful guardian of the Mucem collections, rediscover his emotions. Eight games in the “Le fabuleux terrier” children’s area complete this quest. An invaluable opportunity to encourage the youngest visitors to better recognize, express and manage their emotions…

    Mucem’s gardeners help you discover the Mediterranean plants and biodiversity of this dry garden through shapes, fragrances, textures, materials and colors. A small workshop using vegetable inks, featuring pomegranate and madder, completes this springtime visit.

    Through the “Méditerranées” exhibition, students discover how works, objects and stories have constructed dream images of the Mediterranean. The workshop continues with the pop-up card principle. Using the themes of the exhibition – architecture, nature and objects – they create their own map, using 2 3-dimensional sets. A time for observation and feedback allows them to share their creations and make links with the works on display.

  • The meaning of fashion - Visit-workshop in connection with the exhibition "Mossi, fashion together".

    Following a tour of the exhibition and the world of fashion designer Mossi Traoré, the workshop invites students to create key rings and pendants from recycled fabrics and materials, in an upcycling approach. Inspired by the museum’s collections and Mossi Traoré’s work, they explore emblems linked to the exhibition’s heritage and motifs to design unique accessories.

Conservation and Resource Center

Located in the Belle de Mai district, the Conservation and Resource Center (CCR) is dedicated to the conservation and dissemination of the Mucem collections. The model apartment is one of 17 storerooms that showcase the diversity of the museum’s holdings and reveal what goes on behind the scenes. A reading room is also available for consulting archives and books, and for borrowing the latter.

Biblio-contes

Public: Moyenne section – Grande section / Duration: 1h / Workshop visit.
The visit begins with the discovery of the reserve and some twenty objects depicting characters or animals echoing the world of fairy tales. The library is then transformed into a place of exchange, reading and creation.

Story box

Public: Moyenne section – Grande section / Duration: 1h / Off-site workshop in Marseille.
Students create a collective booklet, using silk-screen stamps and visuals, to keep track of the main stages of folk tales.
