Who we are
Mucem is a national museum inaugurated in Marseille in 2013. An offshoot of the Musée National des Arts et Traditions Populaires, it is dedicated to European and Mediterranean cultures. At the crossroads of the humanities and the arts, the museum organizes exhibitions, conferences and events, and conserves over a million objects and documents. Its activities are spread over three sites: the J4, Fort Saint-Jean (near the Old Port), and the Centre de Conservation et de Ressources (CCR) in the Belle de Mai district. As of December 31, 2024, Mucem employed 133 people. Its workforce is made up of civil servants and public-sector contract employees. Apprentices on sandwich courses, subsidized contracts, civic service volunteers, post-doctoral researchers, intermittent entertainment workers and honorary interns reinforce the permanent teams.Presentation of the department
The apprentice will report to the Resource Development Department (SDR), which comprises a Privatization Unit, a Concessions and Image Management Unit, and a Patronage Unit. The main mission of this department is to develop the museum’s own resources.Main tasks of the profile sought
Reporting to the Head of Department and under the functional authority of the Privatization Manager, he/she is responsible for the operational coordination of events organized by the SDR at the museum. Operations can be of different types: private operations (corporate events, sponsorship or partnerships) and internal communication operations (vernissages, public relations operations).Management of space rental requests
Responses to incoming customer requests (e-mail, telephone)
Supporting customers in setting up their project
Quotations, contractualization, invoicing and administrative follow-upOperational follow-up of events
Management of customer relations upstream through to reception on the day of the event
Management of service providers (specifications, quotations, follow-up and coordination, invoicing)
Upstream management of the event: liaison with internal (building, safety, public, stage management, programming…) and external contacts: technical scouting, transmission of information, anticipation of potential problems…
Follow-up of technical elements: preparation of set-up sheets, checking of layout plans, collection of technical elements…
Coordination on the day of the event: presence and on-site management during set-up and operation.Profile required
