Children set off on a mission in the “Populaire? exhibition to help Phil the rabbit, faithful guardian of the Mucem collections, find his emotions. Eight games in the “Le fabuleux terrier” children’s area complete this quest. An invaluable opportunity to encourage the youngest visitors to better recognize, express and manage their emotions…

The tour is offered on Wednesdays, except during school vacations.

Storytelling tour in connection with the exhibition “Populaire? Treasures from the Mucem collections” exhibition.

Have you ever visited Populaire? The objects you find there all have something to tell you… Like this story told by the wise Nasreddine. In an imaginary oriental country, the palace peacock goes in search of the most beautiful gift for the little prince’s birthday…but what would be the ideal present among all the treasures in the “Populaire” exhibition?

Visits are offered on Wednesdays and during the All Saints’, Christmas, winter, spring and summer vacations.

A tablet-based tour of Mucem’s puppet collections.
Duration: 1h / Public: + 7 years / Price: free on reservation (reservationccr@mucem.org or 04 84 35 14 23).

Mucem and puppets go back a long way, with rich collections preserved at the Centre de conservation et de ressources (CCR) de la Belle de Mai. Discover them in an unusual way, guided by a fun application.

The tour is only available during certain school vacations.

Yoga discovery tour.
Duration: 1h / Audience: + 6 years / Price: 50 euros.

How about a moment of zen at the Mucem? For an hour, a few yoga exercises will help you loosen up, get rid of tension and explore the museum and its architecture with your body. Nothing but well-being!

The yoga tour is offered on Wednesdays and during the All Saints’, Christmas, winter, spring and summer vacations.

Storytelling tour in conjunction with the “Reading the Sky” exhibition.
Until January 5, 2026 / Duration: 1h / Public: 4-6 and 7-10 years

Using the works in the exhibition as a starting point, this tour plunges you into the mysteries of the sky, through myths, tales and astrological stories… leave with stars in your eyes!

Theatrical visit in conjunction with the exhibition “Don Quixote. Histoire de fou, histoire d’en rire” exhibition.
November 6, 2025 – March 30, 2026 / Running time: 1h / Audience: 6-10 years

Welcome to the world of Don Quixote, the knight with the sad face! Armed with courage, he sets off on an adventure with his faithful Rossinante and squire Sancho. On this theatrical tour, children meet Dulcinea, battle windmills, puppets and other enemies. Get ready for a unique adventure!

Sensory visit in connection with the “Bonnes Mères” exhibition
From March 26, 2026 / Duration: 1h / Public: 6-10 years

An emotional and affective visit to talk about the relationship between mother and child.
Through works of art and objects from antiquity to the present day, children will discover how motherhood has changed over time, and how precious the bonds between mother and child remain.

Workshop-visit in conjunction with the “Méditerranées” exhibition
From January 15 to May 13 2026 / Duration: 1h30 / Public: 6-11 years

Through the “Mediterranean” exhibition, children discover how works, objects and stories have constructed dream images of the Mediterranean. Between ancient temples, mythological heroes and vanished cities, they explore these imaginary worlds, then create their own Mediterranean vision in a workshop.

The workshop tour is offered on Wednesdays and during the winter, spring and summer vacations.

Workshop-visit in conjunction with the “Mossi Traoré” exhibition
From May 27, 2026 / Duration: 1h30 / Public: 6-11 years

After a visit to the exhibition, the discovery continues with a workshop combining sewing, urban arts and know-how. Children discover the committed approach of designer Mossi Traoré, manipulating materials and shapes to create a unique piece together.

The workshop is offered on Wednesdays and during the summer vacations.

A discovery tour of the exhibition halls and Fort Saint-Jean to help you get to grips with the site and understand the vocation of a museum of civilization. Ideal for a first encounter with the Mucem.

Sharpen your eyes with this behind-the-scenes look at the construction of the J4 building by architect Rudy Ricciotti. The tour approaches architecture as a sensory experience.

Visit and board game in connection with the “Populaire? exhibition / Ages 12 to 17 / 1h30
In collaboration with the association Les Déclencheurs.

After a visit to the “Populaire? exhibition , a collaborative card game will take youngsters to different Mediterranean ports. They’ll have to work together to find mysterious objects. A fun way to explore the diversity of the collections, with a board game that’s 100% Mucem.

Visit-writing workshop in connection with the “Populaire? exhibition. Ages 14 to 17 / 1h30

Objects can tell a lot of stories… To tell the story of the objects in the “Populaire? exhibition in a different way, a writing workshop allows young people to confront their imaginations with a unique exercise: lending their memories, their perceptions and their words to the collections. Whether melancholy, piquant or humorous, it’s your story!

Workshops are held on Wednesdays and during school vacations.

From January 2026 / In conjunction with the “Méditerranées” exhibition / Ages 14-17 / 2h
In collaboration with Marie-Rose Frigière.

After a tour of the exhibition, young people debate representations of the Mediterranean. Using images, they develop their critical faculties, confront their points of view and question the way they view others through history, art and museums.

The Mucem is offering two weeks of special programming in conjunction with the “Reading the Sky” exhibition, featuring imaginary planets, worlds dancing on walls and celestial myths. Each show is an invitation to reverie and contemplation, to make all heads turn… towards the sky, and with stars in their eyes!

February 14 to 28, 2026
Enjoy moments of relaxation and well-being with a yoga workshop for young and old, a show dedicated to physical well-being, and a convivial storytelling snack. Take care of yourself, even at the museum!

April 11 to 26, 2026
Storytelling tours, discovery tours or sensory tours… during the spring vacations, there’s a new activity for kids every day at the Mucem!

From July 4 to August 31, 2026
During the summer, the Mucem offers tours and workshops around the exhibitions for groups of children.
