Pleine Lune brings together dancers and choreographers Toto (Mohamed Mahmud Mohamed Ibrahim) and Islam Elarabi for the first time, around a shared passion: mahraganat.
A choreographic and musical aesthetic rejected by the establishment but wildly popular, transcended on stage by the dancers and choreographers who interweave their energy, expressive power and emotions to invent “an essential language of expression – organic, free and beautiful in its raw violence and truth”. Here, the alliance of mahraganat, martial arts and contemporary dance plunges the performers into a kind of bare-knuckle combat, where each competes with the other in...

  • Mediterranean Season 2026 from May 15 to October 31, 2026

The Saison Méditerranée 2026 showcases the richness and diversity of Mediterranean cultures. It celebrates the artists, creators and young talents of these regions, promoting cultural and human exchanges.

After a popular and festive opening in Marseille, the Saison Méditerranée will take place mainly in France, throughout the country, between May 15 and October 31, 2026. It will extend to the shores of the Mediterranean through the organization of several events in conjunction with the region’s artistic scenes and cultural structures, and the French diplomatic network abroad.

This Season is an opportunity to promote initiatives by young people and diasporas, to support creation and innovation through the circulation of ideas and people, and to encourage cooperation between civil societies, in particular with Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon.

The Season proposes 5 themes to address contemporary issues in common: speculative utopias, plural identities, contemporary spiritualities, the collective history of migrations, the construction of narratives.

Under the aegis of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, in association with the Interministerial Directorate for the Mediterranean, this Season is managed by the Institut français under the general curatorship of Julie Kretzschmar.
