Adult, all levels, Compagnie Sylvain Huc
Sylvain Huc sees the body in movement as a language, but also as a technology, a set of techniques that he shares. The workshop unfolds in perpetual movement, from floor to standing. The repetition of gestures that gradually become more complex becomes a working principle. Made up of strata that gradually build up, these gestures, or motifs, cultivate physical rigor and precision of movement.
“There’s a strong artisanal dimension to my practice, in the sense that repetition of gesture is fundamental. I repeat and repeat the same gestures for years. Far from being boring, this repetition is, on the contrary, a perpetual rediscovery for me.”
Presentation of the artist
Since 2010, Sylvain Huc has been exploring the body as an infinite territory, at the crossroads of anthropology, abstraction and ritual. As a choreographer and director of his own company, he develops a sensitive style in which sound, light and movement interact, privileging shared experience over narrative.
Sylvain Huc at KLAP Maison pour la danse

Sylvain Huc and Mathilde Olivares will present La vie nouvelle at KLAP Maison pour la danse on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 8 p.m.
Sylvain Huc & Mathilde Olivares, artistic accomplices for a decade, have committed themselves, choreographers and performers, to the creation of a duo. Nurtured by numerous collaborations, their relationship, refined over the course of the pieces, the studio and exchanges, frees itself of any message, abandoning itself to the present of a common, refined language, in perpetual invention.
On a bare stage, a small white cylinder invites itself as a discreet but active presence, linking bodies and movements. In La vie nouvelle, relationships are played out between loss and recovery, continuity and modulation, in a space open to all possibilities.
The gesture is an invitation to contemplate dance unfolding, to watch bodies “open”, in perpetual renewal. Through matter and mystery, the experience is both physical and poetic: an invitation to experience, with the audience, a moment of trust, presence and infinite potential.
