Disabled

Aware of the need to surround itself with disability experts in order to design and build a comprehensive accessibility policy, Mucem formed a committee from the outset of the project, bringing together Marseilles-based associations representing the disabled. Together, they considered the museum’s physical, sensory and cognitive accessibility.

In July 2014 and in December 2019, the Mucem was awarded the Tourisme et Handicap label for the four major disability families. After winning the award in 2018, in 2020 the Mucem received the Accessible Tourism trophy in the “Places to Visit” category.
