


Three short films to discover through the eyes of young viewers.
This session highlights the project carried out with students from Marseilleveyre Middle School centered on three short films from the festival’s selection. Guided by Mathilde Chèvre, editor at Le Port a Jauni, and Driss El Hachami, an Arabic language teacher, the students explored the films through writing, theater, calligraphy, and a project focusing on the rich shared Arabic heritage underlying these films.

"Zizou" by Khaled Moeit
Egypt, 2025, 19’ – Fiction
Zizou, a 13-year-old who is overweight, sets out to befriend the most popular boy in the neighborhood. But his relentless efforts expose him to unexpected ridicule, reawakening unresolved feelings.
Starring: Ziad Kamel, Omar Sherif, Ahmed Bahaa.
Randa Maroufi's "L’mina"
France, Morocco, Italy, Qatar, 2025, 26’ – Experimental
Jerada is a mining town in Morocco where coal mining, although officially halted in 2001, continues on an informal basis. The play recreates the current work in the mines using a set design created in collaboration with the town’s residents, who play themselves.
Kentucky Gaza by Omar Rammal
Jordan, Palestine, 2025, 19’ – Fiction
In Gaza, Abu Anwar stubbornly runs the only fried chicken restaurant, staying true to his unique recipe. His son Anwar, stifled by the routine, leaves him after an argument. He then takes a wild gamble: smuggling in chicken from a major international chain. It’s an overnight success, giving locals a taste of the outside world. But the smuggling puts the family restaurant at risk. When the occupying authorities put a stop to it, the venture falls apart.
Starring: Nader Abd Alhay, Ramzi Maqdisi, Ahmad Al-Shaer.
