In 1967, the year of the war between the Arab armies and Israel, seeing in Gamal Abd El Nasser the image of his late father, he joined the ranks of the resistance in Suez, convinced that victory was near.

Khaled El Hagar, director
Khaled El Hagar began his career as an assistant to the renowned Alexandrian director Youssef Chahine. His first feature film, *Ahlam Saghira*, was produced by Youssef Chahine’s production company, Misr International Films, which continues to preserve the legacy of these filmmakers to this day. Aflam partnered with the Archive Circulation Initiative and hosted its technicians, who traveled from Beirut to lead a film restoration workshop in Marseille, following which the feature film was digitally restored in 4K. It is being presented in its restored version at Aflam for its world premiere.
