On September 20 and 21, 2025, the Musem is taking part in the European Heritage Days. A weekend rich in discoveries to explore the museum in a different way and gain access to rarely-seen spaces.
Exhibitions open all weekend
On this occasion, access to the exhibitions on the J4 and Fort Saint-Jean will be entirely free all weekend long. Visitors will be able to (re)discover “Lire le ciel”, “Amazighes”, “Populaire?” and “Méditerranées”, through a variety of itineraries accessible to all.
A new exhibition and workshops to discover JRC professions
The program also includes workshops and guided tours to further explore the Mucem collections. The Centre de Conservation et de Ressources (CCR) will be inaugurating its new exhibition “Le musée mène l’enquête”, accompanied by workshops on the museum’s trades (documentation, library, installation, photography…), offering a behind-the-scenes look at the institution.
Guided tours of the Mucem’s large reserves
As an exceptional feature of the European Heritage Days at the Mucem, the large reserves will be open to the public. These spaces, usually closed, house the large-format agricultural, craft, industrial and fairground collections, as well as two ecological units. Guided tours will be organized every hour, departing between 10:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. (excluding lunch breaks), enabling around twenty people per slot to enjoy a unique experience at the heart of the collections.
