Art and herbalism

Plein air ! - Craft cycle

This workshop explores the invisible circulations between plants, bodies and soils, where the chemical, symbolic and political dimensions of life are woven together.

With Laure Vigna, visual artist and herbalist

In the Jardin des Migrations, we’ll be identifying and transforming a number of Mediterranean medicinal plants capable of interacting with pollutants and acting as bio-indicators. By observing their shapes, scents and properties, we’ll look at their ecological role: as care plants, but also as filtering organisms revealing the chemistry of the site.

Participants will learn how to identify species and prepare an alcoholic mixture (maceration of fresh plants in alcohol) as a means of conservation, transmission and transformation.

The workshop will end with a sensory feedback session, where everyone will be able to identify the transformation it brings about, whether in the body, in the soil or in the land.
