Welcome to the Mucem’s first Full Moon Party!

From 8.30pm to 1am, the music will have you reaching for the stars, as Walter Astral gently lifts you off the ground to join the electro planet of Étienne de Crécy. DJ support by Tommy from Southwax.

It’s a night to remember, and a night to treasure… with a host of surprises in store: star wanderings, lunar decor, Mars cocktails, space soups, energizing haircuts, astral flash tattoos, astrology workshops around the full moon, and a free tour of the “Reading the Sky. Under the stars in the Mediterranean” exhibition.

The “Reading the Sky” exhibition closes at 11pm.

The program

  • 9:30 pm: Walter Astral

Walter Astral is the duo formed by Tristan Thomas, also known as Zaspéro and captain of Ovhal44, and Tino Gelli, singer of Polycool. Their two seemingly distant musical worlds share a devotion to onirism and the absurd, and harmonize in their mystical trances. Walter Astral’s music is the meeting of psychedelic pop with the world of techno and acid. Tristan’s drum machines and acid bass blend with the retro sound of Tino’s guitar and a banjo so old it provides quarter-tones, like a saz. Their hybrid musical style finds its influences in King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Flavien Berger, Altin Gün and Charanjit Singh. After being spotted at the Inouïs du printemps de Bourges in 2022, and supported by FAIR in 2023, Walter Astral set up their hut in the four corners of France (and beyond). The project, signed with Alias en Tour, continues its tour in 2023-2024, playing a sold-out Maroquinerie and Trabendo. The band performed at La Cigale on March 15, 2025. Their debut album Eclipse is scheduled for release on January 24, 2025. The Jour EP, the first part of the album, has been available since February, followed by the second part, Nuit, in September. The album is an astral odyssey, a dreamlike epic that contrasts and complements the solar and lunar stars. From dawn to dusk, from zenith to nadir, from new moon to full moon, Walter Astral likes to play on contrasts both narratively and musically.

  • 11:30 pm: Etienne de Crécy

Étienne de Crécy, considered an important member of the French Touch movement, is a French DJ and producer of electronic and trip hop music. He has performed alongside De La House, MC Solaar, Air… on the Motorbass album, as well as in concert with Indochine. Not to mention his performances at Rock en Seine and the Philharmonie de Paris.

From punk bass player to sound engineer in Paris, then creator of some of the most sublime house melodies of the last thirty years, Étienne de Crécy is an artist in perpetual motion.

Étienne de Crécy is undoubtedly best known for his classic album Super Discount, which embodied all that was chic, soulful and innovative about the emergence of the French Touch when it was released in 1997. But Étienne de Crécy’s roots go back long before Super Discount, and he continues to release fantastic music today, making him one of the few French Touch legends still touring, producing and innovating.

All evening long, a cosmic atmosphere will take over the J4 and Place d’Armes.

Flash tattoos, lunar haircuts and horoscopes under the stars will enliven Place d’Armes and J4, which will vibrate to the rhythm of a cosmic night. The bar will be serving up celestial creations, accompanied by the inevitable full-moon soups. The “Lire le ciel” (Reading the Sky) exhibition will be open to the public until 11 p.m., punctuated by flash visits and giant star walks by Aérosculpture.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m.
Entrance only via the Saint-Laurent footbridge (on the Panier side)
