Travelling exhibitions
Mucem is developing privileged partnerships with museums and institutions in the Mediterranean and Europe, based on reciprocity and sharing.
These partnerships take the form of traveling exhibitions, which we design either as co-productions, to establish a lasting collaboration, or by adapting the curatorial approach to the local context, thus fostering rich exchanges.
Past travelling exhibitions
"Model clothes
The “Model Garments” exhibition follows the journey of five pieces that have stood the test of time and fashion. How have tank tops and overalls, designed to dress tradesmen, become sources of inspiration and even “basics” for the fashion industry? What transformations are the kilt and espadrille, associated with specific geographies, undergoing as they spread? What paths did jogging take to free itself from sports use and become one of the images of urban culture?
Born out of the repertoires of sportswear, workwear and regional costume, they are now all staples of the contemporary wardrobe.Jean Dubuffet, a barbarian in Europe
Coproduced by Mucem with the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern de Valence (Ivam) and the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève (Meg).

This exhibition presents his artistic production in all its diversity, with a particular focus on the objects and documents resulting from the research he carried out while visiting museums of ethnography and folk art, as well as various collections dedicated to the “art of the mad”.
