The Mucem concept store
Mucem welcomes Maison Yellow in an immersive ephemeral concept store. Maison Yellow, a friendly, sunny concept from Marseille, takes over the Mucem to offer a unique experience in Mediterranean art of living. A project combining design, heritage and local creativity.

Mediterranean art of living at the heart of a popular museum
A national museum dedicated to the civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean, the Mucem has held a unique place in Marseille’s cultural landscape for over 12 years. It celebrates popular arts and traditions, explores social issues and pursues its mission of reaching out to audiences who are farthest from culture.
By launching this new ephemeral concept store in the heart of Fort Saint-Jean, Maison Yellow and the Mucem are once again affirming their territorial roots and their openness to contemporary forms of expression. At the crossroads of heritage and lifestyle, this ephemeral space celebrates the Mediterranean art of living through local know-how and everyday objects.
A concept store dedicated to Marseille’s identity
The original concept immerses visitors in the soul of Marseille, with a boutique and an immersion in the heritage of the Pernod Ricard group.
A boutique in the colors of the South and the Mediterranean
In a warm atmosphere steeped in history, the boutique offers products embodying the popular culture and authenticity of the South, all selected for their Mediterranean roots:
Collector’s items exclusive to the Ricard brand, such as the famous broc reinvented by studio 5.5 or the boxes created in collaboration with Mathieu Lehanneur.
Brands that embody the art of living in Marseille, such as :
– Monochromic celebrates the shapes and scents of the South with handmade ceramics.
The brand recently obtained “Fabriqué à Marseille” certification, created by the Marseille Town Hall
to promote the diversity and richness of local craft and industrial production.
– Oaï of life creates solar bags and textiles, printed and assembled in an artisanal workshop in Marseille.
– The emblematic Marseilles brand La Boule bleue, faithful to the values of pétanque.
– La Boutique des Marseillais innovates with games and playful objects based on local culture.
– La Crique, a natural cosmetics brand that celebrates light and local know-how… and many others.
Paul Ricard Circuit accessories: vintage bag, t-shirt, original bob… A whole selection of retro-looking textiles to celebrate the passion and style of the legendary Paul Ricard circuit.
Delicatessen with southern flavours, including brands :
– Les Anis de Flavigny, an emblematic aniseed-flavored confectionery since 1591.
– Le Ketchup marseillais: the brand that’s making Americans tremble with its authentic flavor and local, preservative-free production.
– A selection of original, gourmet products such as fennel breadsticks from the Maison Yellow x Saravelli collaboration, old-fashioned liquorice sweets…
Finally, a Maison Yellow summer capsule collection and a collector’s item, created in collaboration with Mucem, will complete the selection and be unveiled before summer.
An experience at the heart of Marseille’s heritage
To give full expression to the collaboration between Mucem and Maison Yellow, the concept-store offers a sunny, sensory scenography with a playlist of southern accents, sea spray scents, a “chill” photocall, table soccer…
Anecdotes, visual archives and cult objects will trace the heritage of the Pernod Ricard group, which has made Marseille much more than a cradle of inspiration.
Throughout its presence at Fort Saint-Jean, this concept will be a living space, animated by events combining meetings and workshops.
Maison Yellow: a brand that makes the South of France shine
The initial Maison Yellow concept was born in 2021 at Docks Village, and is now being rolled out in “hors les murs” concepts, such as at Marseille Provence Airport and in department stores. Each time, we offer an immersive experience around aniseed products, pastisology workshops or convivial food events (“Les Grandes tablées”, “Born in Marseille” afterworks, Sunday brunch…) With this new ephemeral concept-store at the Mucem, Maison Yellow invites both local and tourist audiences to taste the flavors and conviviality of the South, with the desire to tell the story of Marseille, its heritage and its cultural richness.
