Mucem is a national museum inaugurated in Marseille in 2013. A spin-off from the Musée National des Arts et Traditions Populaires, it is dedicated to European and Mediterranean cultures. A social museum at the crossroads of the humanities and the arts, it offers exhibitions, conferences and cultural events, and houses over a million objects and documents. Its activities are spread over three sites: the J4 and Fort Saint-Jean, near the Old Port, and the Conservation and Resource Center in Belle de Mai.
