Yuksek x Thomas Pesquet
Yuksek and Souleance will be live on the Place d’Armes in Fort Saint-Jean for the third Sous les étoiles evening, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Borderline collective!
Yuksek
Born in 1977 in Reims, Pierre-Alexandre Busson received his classical training at the Conservatoire until the age of 17, when he dropped out. He also played the piano. In 2003, Yuksek created the Elektricity festival, which takes place every year in Reims during the last week of September. In 2006, he released his first tracks under the pseudonym Yuksek, meaning “high” in Turkish, and soon began performing live around the world, releasing his first EPs and remixes on labels such as Rise, Relish, I’m a cliché, Kitsuné, Exploited, Citizen…
February 2009 saw the release of his debut album, Away From the Sea, whose singles Tonight and Extraball brought him mainstream recognition he had not previously achieved (interviews in major media, Canal+’s Grand Journal, etc.).
After a two-year tour, Yuksek released their new album Living on the Edge of Time on June 13, 2011, an electronic and frankly pop genre launched by the single On A Train. The album was nominated for a 2012 Victoires de la Musique award in the Best Electronic or Dance Album category.
Yuksek is regularly asked to produce remixes. He has over a hundred to his credit, for artists and groups such as Phoenix, Delasoul, M83, Chassol, Lana Del Rey, Brigitte…
Souleance
Souleance is certainly the most mixed duo in France. Their tracks are regularly played at parties by Polo & Pan, Yuksek and, of course, Borderline. Souleance is the meeting of DJ Soulist and producer Fulgeance. The pair regularly rock the record shelves with their releases combining cutting-edge instrumentals and bouncy samples.
