Welcoming guests to Marseille and the surrounding area: questions of hospitality
Study day
The conditions under which migrants are received in France, in a context that is increasingly hostile to them, call into question respect for human rights in our societies. Conditionality of access to rights, hierarchization of beneficiaries and institutional shortcomings characterize this context, while the dynamics of solidarity emerging from civil society, as well as from certain communities, are striving to embody and promote solidarity, welcome and hospitality.
By co-constructing reflections between activists, practitioners, associations, citizens in solidarity, institutions and academics, this day will address different aspects and issues of the lives of migrants in Marseille and the region: health, schooling, training, work, housing, habitat and the categorization and sorting of vulnerable groups.
