Najwa and Mansour cross Lebanon on a full-moon night. They arrive in Beirut with the intention of leaving the country. Along the way, they come across a lotto saleswoman and a lighthouse keeper trying to rekindle his town, which is plunged into darkness with no electricity.

    Liana grew up in the Lebanese capital, Renaud in the French countryside. Brought up in the early 2000s by the films of their respective video clubs, they met in Paris in 2007. When they finished their studies, they bought an Aaton Super 16 mm camera and moved to Beirut. This was followed by a series of essays and short films, written and directed by four hands between the two countries. La Mer et ses vagues is their first feature film.
