Terra in vista
Jean Rouch International Festival
By Giulia Angrisani and Mattia Petullà (Belgium, 2022, 1h25) – VOSTFR
Official Selection 2023: Immersive viewing
Cecilia, Armelle, Gibbo and Sisco are seasonal workers. They work in monoculture fields and set up temporary camps on wasteland. Where one might think them trapped in a life on the margins, they evade preconceived ideas with their determination to live and think with precariousness.
Terra in vista is a bittersweet story with no winners or losers.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Giulia Angrisani, Mattia Petullà and Laurent Pellé, Festival General Delegate.
Giulia Angrisani
Giulia Angrisani is a visual anthropologist. Her approach as a researcher encompasses both documentary and contemporary visual practices, with a particular focus on human phenomena of the mental and affective mechanism – from both relational and experiential perspectives.
Mattia Petullá
Mattia Petullá has a degree in communication sciences. He began working with digital cameras in 2001 as part of a media-activist television experiment called Orfeo TV, in Bologna. Mattia Petullá writes and directs films working with non-professional actors who, in many cases, are also the originators of the stories he wants to tell, having experienced them first-hand.
