Pulsations! - Saturday shows and workshops
Concert
Luisa Briguglio and Matteo Nocera
Luisa Briguglio and Matteo Nocera draw on the alchemy of voice and percussion to create a repertoire and poetry for today. Their inspiration comes from the traditional southern heritage of the Italian peninsula, particularly Sicily and Naples. Two instruments and two origins, like the conditions for the existence of a music. From these fundamentals, they move forward in search of a unique sound and identity.
A program imagined with the Cité de la Musique.
Traditional percussion workshop for today's music Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Practice course, for the general public
By Matteo Nocera (percussionist) and Luisa Briguglio (singer)
The inclusion of Italian frame drums and all their possible derivatives in today’s music is the subject of exciting research in all current initiatives that incorporate these instruments.
How do you make an urban music with these testimonies of the ancient rural south of Italy? This is precisely what Matteo Nocera does, both in his music and in his teaching.
In this workshop, we’ll be amazed to learn that both rhythm’n’blues and trap can find crystal-clear instrumental applications with rudimentary means.
A program imagined with the Cité de la Musique.
Full price: €20
Reduced price: 15€The workshop fee includes access to the “Sinekwanon” concert on the same day at 5pm.
