Nul en maths”, “Nul en français”, “Nul en français”… Class council’s opinion: vocational guidance!” In the name of an over-simplistic and expedient “manual/intellectual” dichotomy, the most important subjects in secondary school are too often used to “orient”… towards subjects that are unknown to students and their teachers alike. Are maths and French destined only to train an elite? Is manual and technical work still a default option? Instead of prioritizing subjects, why not try to reunite them?
