Bien dans ma tête © Lisa Mendel, Mucem

Right in the head!

Meetings, workshops and shows/concerts.

The Covid pandemic, geopolitical tensions, ecological emergencies, addictions, the omnipresence of screens and isolation… The younger generations are exposed to multiple risks and crises, and they are paying the price: attention disorders, school and social phobias, depression, suicide attempts… Why is it so stressful to be “young” in 2024?

In order to break down stereotypes about mental health, get people talking and make available its resources (exhibitions, mediation and adapted spaces), the Mucem, a museum of society fully rooted in its time, is offering two days dedicated to young people’s mental health: a professional day on Friday, September 27, and a day and evening open to the general public on Saturday, September 28.

The program includes an associative forum, meetings and discussions with specialists in psychiatry, psychology and care, as well as testimonials from guests and peers, providing an overview of mental and psychic disorders affecting young people in particular, and a panorama of players and therapeutic approaches.

Workshops and artistic performances on emotions, addictions, dark thoughts, physical practices… Come and take stock of your mental health and that of your loved ones, with family or friends. Because we urgently need to take care of ourselves, let’s explore together what makes us feel good. To feel better in our heads, in our bodies and with others.

Event designed in partnership with the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Marseille as part of the agreement signed in December 2023 between the Mucem and the AP-HM.

Saturday, September 28th

This is followed by a 20-minute free discussion, after which the artist prescribes and performs a poem, music or dance, specially chosen for the person in question.
