5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Fort Saint-Jean, Mucem BAKIR
Bakir
BAKIR is a trio of electronic and instrumental music.
BAKIR shifts the boundaries with a mixed sound that blends North African rhythms from the Maghreb with Middle Eastern melodies and Mediterranean maqams. This energetic musical mix of traditional instruments, drum machines and synthesizers gets us moving, dancing and trance-like. Combining oriental, ethnic and industrial sounds, the trio offers a timeless universality. There’s a natural alchemy between the three musician acolytes, who have now been working together for ten years on the collective label Baklawa Music. Based between Morocco and Marseille, Bakir updates the Maghreb musical universe, creating original compositions with traditional influences.
5:45pm to 6:15pm - Fort Saint-Jean, Mucem Olkan & the red viper
Juliette Valero
Mediterranean Techno
Olkan & La Vipère Rouge are a family affair, two long-time friends who grew up together in the south of France. Their music, steeped in Mediterranean influences, is hot-blooded. Their instrumental techno live show is as colorful as it is hard-hitting, combining Mediterranean instruments with vocals that can be as suave as a ’90s loubard. On stage, the two partners don’t hide their sometimes almost punkish influences from their “Basse Ville”, a district of Romans and also the title of their first EP released on November 10, available on all platforms and on vinyl.
6:30 pm - Fort Saint-Jean, Mucem Speeches by the commissioners
Giulia Fabbiano, IDEAS lecturer, AMU, and Camille Faucourt, curator, Mobilités et métissages, Mucem.
6:45pm to 7:15pm - Fort Saint-Jean, Mucem BAKIR
