Opening night of the "Mediterranean" exhibition
To celebrate the opening of the new permanent exhibition “Méditerranées”, the Mucem invites you to a great musical evening with four concerts to be discovered in the exhibition hall and on the terrace of the J4 building, an ephemeral tattoo workshop and other surprises!
A presentation of the exhibition by its curators and artist Théo Mercier will be given at 7:30 and 8:45 pm on the terrace of the J4 building.
On site, Chez Marwan will be serving chawarma, falafel and manakis for 8 euros, and Bordeline will be at the bar offering drinks from 3 to 7 euros!
In partnership with Les Suds à Arles
5:30 pm to 8:30 pm - in the showroom Solo Lydie Fuerte (flamenco recital, Spain)
Composer and guitarist Lydie Fuerte will perform a flamenco fusio recital featuring her own compositions.
His latest works in the “Méditerranées” exhibition focus as much on the quality of sound as on the quality of silence, creating an intimate dialogue between his music and the objects.
5:30 pm to 8:45 pm - in the showroom Duo Maël Goldwaser and Arthur Bacon (flamenco, Spain)
Guitarist and composer Maël Goldwaser and accordionist Arthur Bacon seem carried along by the same musical breath, the same complicit élan. Their music is free-spirited, as if born of the moment. Tonight, it emerges from the exhibition halls, in the depth and intensity of the flamenco tradition.
7:45 pm Concert on the J4 terrace Grand ensemble Filos (traditional folk music from Greece, Turkey and Kurdistan)
On the terrace of the J4 building, the seven musicians of the Grand Ensemble Filos plunge us into the popular music of Greece, Turkey and Kurdistan.
The power of women’s polyphony, combined with Persian and Oriental percussion, takes us from the Ionian Sea to the Aegean, in a bid to bring together cultures that history has continually pitted against each other.
