    With Sophie Cattani, Hélène Mohamed, Thierry de Peretti

    In Malmousque, a former fishermen’s district in Marseille, new residents mingle with bathers from all over the city. Virginie wanders the streets in search of her cat, while Élina is convinced that her husband has installed spyware on her cell phone. The two friends set off in a kayak to talk to each other without risking being overheard.

    One New Year’s Eve, with a bottle of champagne in hand, Émilie, 35, registers on Meet Me, the famous Internet dating site, with a New Year’s resolution: to find love. There are lots of men on Meet Me: cynics, comedians, a few lousy ones and even some great romantics. Émilie has no idea what she’s in for in real life.

  • Dorothée Sebbagh (director)

    Dorothée Sebbagh is a screenwriter and director. After graduating from the Fémis in 1999, she wrote and directed two short films: Ni vue ni connue in 2002 and On est mort un million de fois in 2004. She went on to collaborate with Emmanuel Mouret, Jean-Claude Brisseau and Valérie Donzelli. Her first feature film, Chercher le garçon, was released in 2012. L’Ex de ma vie will follow in 2014.

  • Sophie Cattani (actress)

    An actress trained at Ensatt, Sophie Cattani has appeared in numerous films (Selon Charlie, Je suis heureux que ma mère soit vivante, Tomboy, Polisse, Cherchez le garçon). She began her career in theater with Michel Raskine and Laurent Pelly, working with Richard Brunel, Galin Stoev, Denis Marleau and Olivier Maurin. Since 2004, she has directed and performed in shows by the ildi! eldi collective she founded with Antoine Oppenheim (Vice-versa, Shakespeare is dead get over it, Antoine et Sophie font leur cinéma, Les guêpes de l’été nous piquent encore en novembre). Following her performance in Dorothée Sebbagh’s Malmousque in 2021, she will appear in two feature films in 2022, Cédric Jimenez’s Novembre and Gilles Perret’s Reprise en main. In 2023, she plays Maître Stael in the French TV film Droit de regard, directed by Julie Manoukian.

  • Vincent Thabourey (film critic)

    After studying cinema history, Vincent Thabourey set up a national repertory film distribution program with the ADRC (Agence pour le développement régional du cinéma). From 2003 to 2023, he led the Écrans du Sud network of arthouse cinemas, promoting the development of cinema in Marseille and the surrounding region. A film critic for Positif magazine, Vincent Thabourey published Marseille mise en scènes and La Côte d’Azur mise en scènes, published by Espaces&signes in 2018. He is also co-author of Le cinéma à l’heure du numérique : pratiques et publics, published by MKF in 2012, and Propos sur l’amour au cinéma, published by L’art-dit in 2019.
