Macacada, a study of a Brazilian monkey
Pulsations! season 3 - On track!
This show features nudity.
Show – Thought juggling
Maïra de Oliveira Aggio
Macacada is a sensory experience in three acts. Maïra de Oliveira Aggio created it after reading Franz Kafka’s short story Un rapport pour une académie, which tells the story of an ape who has become a man, explaining how he integrated human society by acquiring its codes. Assuming the role of ape, the artist mixes personal narratives and decolonial thoughts in a performance combining acrobatics and lecture, criticizing the rupture between nature and culture in hegemonic Western epistemology.
After the performance in the auditorium, the show continues with a DJ set in the forum.
In partnership with the Biennale internationale des arts du cirque.
