
Inaugural round table - La Galerie du 19M Marseille
To kick off its opening to the general public, Galerie du 19M Marseille invites you to an inaugural round table on Friday May 3 at 11am at the Mucem.
Moderated by journalist Géraldine Sarratia, the round table will begin with a discussion of the values shared by the19M and the Mucem, between the revaluation of know-how, dialogue between disciplines and Mediterranean tropism.
The editorial committee will then talk about the program and the practices on show, providing an opportunity to discuss the artistic and cultural scenes that make Marseille what it is, its power of attraction, and the places and figures that drive the vitality of its creative scenes.
The program
A round table moderated by Géraldine Sarratia, journalist, director and producer of podcasts, with the participation of :
– Pierre-Olivier Costa, President of Mucem
– Bruno Pavlovsky, President of 19M and CHANEL SAS
– Olivier Amsellem, artist and photographer, involved in local life, founder in 2014 of emerging fashion designer boutique Jogging. He has been collaborating with 19M for several years.
– Emmanuelle Luciani, art historian, curator, teacher and artist, founder in 2020 of the Pavillon Southway artists’ residence in the south of Marseille, not far from the calanques.
– Charlotte Pelouse and Karine Terlizzi, co-directors of Le Couvent, a hybrid cultural venue in Marseille’s Belle de Mai district created in 2017 by the Juxtapoz association.
– Caroline Perdrix, co-founder of the Itinérance Méditerranée collective, of which the19M has been a member of the support committee since 2019, and who has already contributed to a series of educational workshops in 2022 at the Galerie du 19M.
La Galerie du 19M Marseille
Echoing the CHANEL Cruise 2024/25 collection fashion show on May 2 in Marseille, the 19M is setting up a free temporary gallery in the Fort Saint-Jean of the Mucem, open to all: from May 3 to 26, the Galerie du 19M Marseille is a space for dialogue and expression between the Métiers d’art and Marseille’s creative scenes. Developed by an editorial committee of creative personalities from Marseilles, the program includes a group exhibition, participatory workshops and round-table discussions. It features artists, craftspeople, designers, associations and creative spaces from Marseille and key destinations in the history of 19M.
