Ciné-dimanche
By Régis Sauder (France, 2021, 1:39)
With Laura, Cadiatou, Armelle, Abou, Albert, Anaïs, Aurore, Emmanuelle, Morgane, Sarah, Virginie
Ten years ago, Emmanuelle, a French teacher at a lycée in Marseille’s northern suburbs, took part in a film with her pupils. Based on a study of The Princess of Cleves, Abou, Morgane, Laura, Cadiatou and the others described their dreams, desires and fears. Today, they all meet again, and memories mingle with tales of their lives and the obstacles they had to overcome.
What remains of their hopes for freedom, equality and fraternity? “I know very well that there is nothing more difficult than what I undertake”, this sentence from the novel echoes more than ever in them. And in us.
Screening followed by a discussion with director Régis Sauder, moderated by Antonia Naïm (programmer).
