From musical theater in an apartment to opera for a large stage, from an intimate solo to an immersive installation, Benjamin Dupé likes to reinvent the form of the concert and renew his relationship with the audience. Accompanied by a lyric singer, an actor and seven musicians, he invites us to share new sensations, to hear music and its profound echoes. His maritime opera is an ecological manifesto that draws its poetry from long hours spent on the Riou and Frioul archipelagos off Marseille, “feeling their singular atmosphere, listening to the sound environment and observing, with his musician’s sensitivity, the play of light and the flight of birds”. (f)riou(l), un opéra maritime is inspired by the place, its geography and history, and the relationship that the human race has today with the sites of its natural heritage.
