In Majdanpek, in eastern Serbia, a strong industrial and mining heritage coexists with an ancient tradition of relating to the invisible entities of the forest. In this town, a family embracing this dual identity is striving to preserve its traditions and ensure the future for generations to come.
Dragan Markovic, a miner all his life, is the last in a line of dragon hunters, while his sister Desa, the widow of a trade union leader, is trying to perpetuate her husband’s memory by protecting the rights of miners’ families.
