By Tony Gatlif (France, 2004, 1h44)

Zano proposes to his companion Naïma to cross France and Spain to reach Algiers and finally get to know the land their parents had to flee from. Passing through Andalusia before deciding to cross the Mediterranean, Zano and Naïma set off in search of their roots, with music as their only baggage.

Awarded the Prix de la mise en scène at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, this is a melancholy, musical road-movie through the cultures of Spain and North Africa. In this film, Tony Gatilf also recounts his own return to the land of his childhood, 43 years after leaving it.

With the support of Ciné Plein-Air Marseille.
