At Mucem J4, forum Sensory discovery of materials
To love, you must first know. How can you discover an attraction to the trades of wood, metal, glass and textiles without ever having experienced intimate, carnal contact with these diverse materials?
A cabinetmaker, a glassmaker and a seamstress offer fun ways to discover materials: dozens of samples to compare, recognize, manipulate and transform!
Wood: Pascal Souvet (ICI Marseille)
Textiles: Sahouda Maallem (13 A’TIPIK) and her workshop Chutes! (May 30 and 31)
Glass: Aurore Bouter
Blind material recognition: Léa Bellenger, trainer (ICI Marseille)
At Mucem J4, forum Discover the sounds of matter with Mylène Pardoen, archaeologist of soundscapes at the CNRS.
Using dozens of microphones, Mylène captures the tiniest sounds of the material being worked by her tools. Equipped with headphones, discover the rustle of silk thread, the song of cut glass, the caress of water on mill blades, the attack of chisel on stone… then accompany Mylène on her hunt for sounds with the artisans gathered in the Place d’Armes of Fort Saint-Jean!
At Mucem J4, forum With AFPA Marseille, an immersion in naval industry trades
Virtual tour of a shipyard with 3D helmets. Take on the role of a welder and boilermaker at the heart of a ship under construction. Welding and seamanship exercises.
At Mucem fort Saint-Jean, place d'Armes Discovering know-how
