Director Yaser Kassab followed in the footsteps of his father, who emigrated from Syria to Europe in his youth. Like him, his ambition was to become a filmmaker. Today, they are working together on a film from a distance. From Syria, by telephone or video call, the father gives his son pointers for film projects, or advises him on how to organize his life. The viewer shares in these loving conversations, punctuated by good advice.

    Yaser Kassab is a Syrian-born filmmaker based in Stockholm, Sweden. He holds a Master’s degree in cinema from the University of Gothenburg. Yaser is best known for On the Edge of Life , which premiered at the Cinéma du Réel film festival, followed in 2019 by his film I Have Seen Nothing, I Have Seen All. The third film in this trilogy, Chasing The Dazzling Light premiered at the IDFA, where it won the award for Best First Documentary Feature.
