Les procès du siècle - Feminism, gender, minorities

  • Debate-
  • Meeting

With Rokhaya Diallo (journalist, feminist and anti-racist activist, columnist and film-maker) and Lilian Thuram (former footballer, director of the Lilian Thuram Foundation)
Moderated by Tewfik Hakem.

With the participation of Julia Ferloni, heritage curator in charge of the Crafts, Trade and Industry section at Mucem.

In France, “hate speech is on the rise, particularly in political circles, as well as in the audiovisual media and on social networks”. These are the findings of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (Ecri) in a report published in September 2022. Forty years after the March for Equality and Against Racism (or “March of the Beurs”, France’s first large-scale anti-racist demonstration), the Trial of the Century puts racism on the stand. What is racism in 2023? How has hate speech slowly contaminated the public arena? Are we all racists?
