Anatomy of a clown
Pulsations! season 3 - On track!
Clown show (ages 8 and up)
An old clown returns to the stage. The spectators stand in front of him, waiting for him to make them laugh. But all fails. He begins a meticulous analysis of his clowning, and by asking himself “why does it fail?”, he comes to reveal a more intimate part of himself.
Like a tightrope walker without a balance beam, Philippe Goudard takes the risk of deep laughter. Anatomy of a clown? Anatomy of man? The clown dissects man, and the audience laughs.
“It’s a perfect example of a great artist taking stock of the gestures and symbols that underpin his practice and his life.
