Mucem offers a cultural program adapted to visitors with mental or psychological disabilities. The presence of an accompanying adult is strongly recommended.
To find out about the accessibility of a guided tour or show, please contact the reservations department.
Certain elements of the program (cinema screenings, concerts, shows for young audiences, etc.) are adapted for the mentally or psychically handicapped. To check accessibility, please contact the reservations department.
The tactile and sensory trails can be used by visitors with mental disabilities. The objects selected for the trail enable visitors to grasp the main themes of each exhibition.
What’s more, the tactile and sensory dimensions of the tours enable visitors to grasp these objects both intellectually and sensitively.
A number of exhibitions offer cartels (small cards next to the works) in French known as FAL, meaning Facile à Lire (easy to read). These texts provide explanations of important concepts for understanding the exhibition.
Facile à Lire et à Comprendre (FALC) booklets are available to make visiting the exhibition easier for everyone. These booklets provide invaluable information on the subjects covered in the exhibition.
Some tours and workshops are adapted for the mentally or psychologically handicapped.
Disabled visitors are entitled to free admission for themselves and a companion, on presentation of proof of disability.
