Un garçon coiffé d'un chapeau porte un panier à son bras gauche. Un deuxième garçon converse avec lui et plonge en même temps la main dans le panier. Sur le côté droit de l'image est représentée une scène de la fable de La Fontaine : le corbeau est perché sur son arbre et tient un fromage dans son bec, tandis que le renard attend en dessous.
