Il s'agit d'une gouache sur un support en papier de forme rectangulaire. Le sujet représenté est un portrait de profil d'un jeune lapon norvégien. Il porte un bonnet multicolore avec deux éléments bleus. Les motifs décoratifs du bonnet répondent au reste du costume.
