Derrière une table, est assis le juge, coiffé de sa perruque. Sont placés devant lui, la boîte volée, un encrier, une plume et des feuillets. Face à lui, se tient Polichinelle, presque agenouillé, qui subit l'interrogatoire, tandis que la clown écarte le tissu qui recouvre la table.
