Constitué d'un long manche en bois cylindrique, présentant un rétrécissement en partie supérieure, souligné par un anneau de fer. Sur le rétrécissement est fixé une chape : pièce rectangulaire pivotante à deux évidements. Une corde y relie un battant court et épais.
