Livre - Cities on the edge

Cities on the Edge is a unique partnership of six European port cities: Liverpool, Bremen, Gdansk, Istanbul, Marseille, and Naples. At Liverpool’s invitation these great maritime cities have come together to examine their roles: on the one hand these “edgy cities” are known for creativity, humour and innovation, on the other infamous for crime, unemployment, and rebelliousness. Yet they are undeniably central and vital to a global culture more than to their national identities. The 2008 CoTE programme was a series of explorations, exchanges, debates, conferences, films, and publications designed to demonstrate not just the shared glories of these cities but the shared problems.
