Cet ouvrage collectif rassemble des contributions centrées sur le thème des mobilités grecques dans l’espace méditerranéen, de l’époque archaïque au début de l’époque hellénistique. Ce thème des mobilités a été l’objet d’un très fort renouvellement conceptuel au cours des 20 dernières années, notamment par la sollicitation des notions de réseaux et d’ethnicité. Tel qu’il a été conçu, l’ouvrage se présente à la fois comme un nécessaire bilan historiographique et épistémologique et comme l’occasion d’approfondissements de ces notions. Le bilan et les perspectives offertes dans ce livre répondent ainsi à une exigence scientifique et à une attente générale puisque la question des mobilités et des diasporas grecques est au cœur du programme des concours du CAPES d’histoire géographie et de l’agrégation d’histoire. The essays collected in this volume focus on the question of Greek mobility in the Mediterranean, from Archaic times down to the beginning of the Hellenistic period. This field of study has seen important theoretical progress in the last twenty years, most notably through the application of notions centred on the concept of ethnicity and on the role played by networks. This book sets out to assess these trends, from both historiographic and epistemological viewpoints, and to evaluate the scientific value of these approaches. The overview and assessment offered here fill a recognized gap in our knowledge and are particularly timely, since the subject of mobility and of Greek diasporas is currently part of the curriculum studied by French students seeking qualification as professors of history and geography.
