Destination Mucem

Destination Mucem is a collection bus mobilized by the Mucem to take residents of Marseille’s priority urban districts to the museum.
Three Sundays a month, the bus runs on a different route: North, East and South (around 6 stops per trip).

The bus serves stops on the Eastern route on the second Sunday of the month, the Southern route on the third Sunday of the month and the Northern route on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Journeys to and from the site are free of charge, as is access to the exhibitions.
Guides, cultural mediators and social mediators are available to help groups make their visit more interactive and accessible.

It’s up to you to spread the word about this scheme within your networks and to the users of your facilities, associations, social centers and leisure centers!
Together, we can break down the barriers of access to information and help all Marseilles residents enjoy the Mucem and the city’s cultural life.

We can imagine joint projects with you or at the Mucem.

We are at your disposal to meet all your needs. You can contact us at relais@mucem.org.

Partnerships

  • Ensemble en Provence by the Bouches-du-Rhône departmental council and Mucem

In early 2015, the Mucem signed an agreement with the Bouches-du-Rhône department to join the “Ensemble en Provence” scheme.

This scheme aims to bring social players closer to cultural and sports players in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, thereby facilitating access to cultural facilities. To encourage visitors to the Mucem, “Ensemble en Provence” removes the barrier of mobility by enabling social structures in the department located outside Marseille to have their transport costs covered when they come to attend a guided tour at the Mucem.

To do so, structures must make their reservation with the Mucem reservations department, specifying that their request is related to the “Ensemble en Provence” program.

A booking confirmation will be sent to them.

A request for transport can be made to the “Ensemble en Provence” team:

  • The Vivre ensemble Marseille group

Mucem has joined forces with several cultural establishments in Marseille to create the “Vivre ensemble Marseille” group. The members of this group propose adapted pricing, specific mediation tools and meetings for social audiences and their intermediaries, and have designated a special contact within each institution. The group publishes a quarterly newsletter containing a selection of proposals.

Practical information

  • Group tours

Group tours must be booked in advance:

The Mucem welcomes groups every day except Tuesday.
All group visits must be booked in advance with the reservations department at least two weeks in advance for guided tours and one week in advance for self-guided tours.

Maximum number of people: 25 (including accompanying adults).

    • Guided tour 1h or 1h30: €50 (Mucem ticket included).
    • Self-guided tour: free reservation fee (Mucem ticket not included).
